It’s contest time! Now is the time to enter your best work in the Idaho Press Club’s “Best of 2014” contest, Idaho’s premier journalism contest.
The deadline for entries this year is Jan. 21, and there will be no extensions, so please plan ahead! Entry is done entirely online; please start early, to ensure you have all the time you need to gather, upload and enter your work and ensure it’s considered for recognition.
We’ve been refining the process and hope it will be easy for you; for help along the way, please refer to the “How to Enter the Idaho Press Club Awards” document on our website (just click on “Awards” and you’ll see the link). It offers simple, step-by-step instructions.
Entry fees this year are $20 per entry for Idaho Press Club members, and $15 for student members. Non-member fees are $35, or $20 for non-member students; fees include PayPal charges. If you’re not a member, consider joining right now! You can do this easily on our website, www.idahopressclub.org, and it could mean substantial savings for you on your contest entries, while also supporting all the good work the Idaho Press Club does.
This year’s contest includes new categories for prep sports reporting in our daily and weekly newspaper divisions. You’ll also find an array of categories to recognize work in Idaho, from daily and weekly newspapers to television, radio, magazine, online, student work and public relations.
For the broadcast and print general excellence categories, the randomly selected dates will be announced on Jan. 14; watch our website for that.
And once you get your entries in, be sure to make plans to attend our gala awards banquet on April 25, 2015 in Boise!
